Life Journey of Eddie Maruce Turner Eddie Maruce Turner entered this life on January 12, 1973, in Lee County, Marianna, Arkansas, born to Rosie and Eddie B. Turner. NOAA records for that January speak of a winter storm blanketing the state in ice and snow, an unforgettable backdrop mark-ing the day God chose to send Eddie into the world. He was educated in the Lee County School District and proudly earned his diploma from Lee County High School in the year of our Lord 1992, crossing yet another milestone on the path that would one day lead him home. Quiet in presence but full in spirit, Eddie lived a life shaped by simple joys and steadfast loyalties. He loved his family with a steady devotion, carried himself with the confidence of a man who appreciated a fine cologne, and found comfort in the familiar taste of the finest tobacco Newport had to offer. Most importantly, Eddie anchored his life in Christ. He solidified his commitment to the Lord at Paradise #2 under the leadership of Pastor G. C Vassel, choosing the path of a believer and walking in the gift of God through Christ Jesus all the way into eternal life. After many years marked by both pain and perseverance, the Lord saw fit to grant Eddie’s spirit release from his failing body. He drifted away as quietly as he lived, passing peacefully in his sleep on January 27, 2026, ironically under the same winter skies and icy weather conditions that had welcomed him into this world fifty‑three years earlier. Upon awakening on the other side, he was met by the familiar faces of those who had gone before him, his grandparents Willie Mae & John Clintscale, Henry & Omelia Turner, his father Eddie B. Turner, and a host of aunts, uncles, a nephew Desean Turner, and cousins, all waiting to welcome him home. What a celebration it must have been, and how much joy he must have felt to WALK through the gates made of pearl. Left to mourn his exit from this life into the next are his mother, Rosie M. Turner, Brothers Derell Turner and Marvin Turner Sr., Sisters Teresa Orr, Tanya Turner, and April Smith. Nieces Jonisha Turner, Teneish Turner, Angela Turner, Tashundra Orr, Ashanta Turner, Shamaria Turner, and Phifer Smith. Nephews Cedric Turner, Rodmetrice Turner, Marvin Turner Jr, Isaiah Turner, and Amir (Rhay) Smith. Great nieces Alaysha Turner, Kai Parker, Khalena Turner, Serena Turner, and Miyelle Foster. And great-nephews Tashaun Turner, Jayden Turner, Ayden Orr, and Jaison Turner. Brother-in-law Joe Willie Orr, & Sister-in-law Lafayette Smith, Ph.D., M.Div.
